So, heres the situation:

My resume is due sometime before tomorrow morning. I don't know anyone who can check to make sure the cover letter is grammatically and structurally sound.

Can someone help me double-check that it makes sense? I would be willing to send the cover letter via messenger or email. ...I would post it here but don't want to just in case I can't edit it out afterwards...

plz, :help:

I'm not all that educated, but I think I do pretty good overall. If you don't get anyone more qualified, I'll take a look for you.
PM me your email and I'll send you mine.

I hope that I was able to help.
It is amazing how good it feels to do a favor for someone I never met IRL! That must be what that "Random acts of kindness" bumper sticker has been touting all along.

Thank You All!

The document will be sent in a few minutes.

I'll post how it all turned out on the forums *crosses fingers*

It's been almost a month and there has been no news at all. Nothing. No announcements in the paper no postings of new employees at their website, nothing.

Nobody has been hired and from the sounds of it nobody was even interviewed. I'm starting to think they weren't hiring at all. From their perspective I can understand this, all they needed to do is get a good volunteer or two and then the money that would normally be spend on salary can be well spent elsewhere for good cause. It is frustrating however, I'd like to at least know whats going on.

The bright side: this opportunity was a starting point to get myself back in gear.

Once again, Thanks for all the help.

:-)

Finally. Today's local news subtly informed the public that the position I applied for has been filled, at the end of the article in the 2nd to last paragraph a name was dropped. It's a relief to know what's going on but a disappointment I didn't even get an interview. The newspaper article asked for volunteers! *hint hint*

It would feel strange to volunteer now. Should it?

On to the next application. If there's something good that's come out of this it is to continue my education within the appropriate field. I hope to attend school again this fall. It'll be strange going back, I'll be 9 years older than everyone in my classes, hopefully this will give me an academic advantage.

Once again, thanks for your help.
