Companies always ask for the boss/supervisor 's names and contacts of your current job in Job applications.

What to do if your boss is jerk and would do anything to keep you in the job? I mean , I can't really trust what my employer would tell them about me if they contact him , he would realize that I am trying to get away and will tell them anything to discredit my qualifications.

What should I do? Should I leave this field blank or what?

I would leave it blank.

It is not altogether uncommon for someone to be looking for another job due to issues with their current job. Also, the current employer may not be aware of that their employee may be searching for another job. This offers the employee the opportunity to find other positions, and yet keep the stability of being employed.

Thus, in short, leave it blank if you have reason to do so.

I would/have put "References available on request" in that area. If they want you for your skills then they can see you again for your references.

If your boss was a jerk, then a former coworker can still be just as good reference from that corporation.

I never say who my current employer is. I give references from a prior job. Why risk your boss firing you when he learns you're looking for a new job? Besides, in a tiny country and field of business, word gets to your boss fast.
