Anyone got tip to be able to continue to work when something else is the interest of their mind.

Really make me have crappy production these last few days of work (bit easier this week than last week but still troublesome). Not that it disturb my boss in any way but it disturb myself for I still got a bit of a perfectionnist personnality (was of quite high level before I became depressive 7 years ago).

Working in a office environement in a public library.

I listen to podcasts and audiobooks on my iPod. It kills the background chatter in my head (mostly). When I'm not listening to something, I start surfing the web in pursuit of my obessive interests or stop working because I am on some bizarre train of thought and I am just staring into nothing. Don't know if that would help you at all.

The sight of earbuds in my ears tends to discourage people from bothering my with small talk as well (except for a few a select few that are just WAY to outgoing for my taste).

The work environnement is actually quite fine for me, people mostly just leave me alone. Actually need to go toward people myself if I want to speak (which is quite rare, except for one person who has been very understanding until now which I am trying to develop a friendly relation (which is quite hard on me for doesn't know if the person just patient and understanding or more thinking my way and because haven't felt like this to someone in 4 years))

But let forgot about little social trouble I got, it completely other trouble and need to take care of it on my own for I can handle it, just a bit hard.

I do put music, but headphone not permited at work, so need to put it straight from speaker (at volume I normaly listen other don't hear it from their office anyway). It does help but finding the right music is not always easy, for choosing wrong one just make it worse.

Yes, music seems to hurt more than help for me as well. The audiobooks and podcasts (usually having to do with a special interest) are very helpful for me though. I'm not sure if that would work without earbuds, though. I fear them banning them where I work, too, for the simple fact that I never talk because of them (or at least they may think that is the reason) and they find that unsettling, I think.

Working in a library would be great...at least I think so.
