...selected over men in my area. At least in regard to service jobs where they are presented before the general public. In the northwest section of Minneapolis where I live now, as well as in Jordan MN where I lived before, it seemed like women had the majority of jobs working with the general public. Though on a search of unemployment levels nationwide, it would seem that only women with a high concentration of melanin are selected over men with a high concentration of melanin, in my area it seems to be generally the case that women are selected over men. It is my guess that there are too main reasons why this is so, and both have to do with outward configuration and appearance.

Huh?
I'm lost as to what you're getting at. It's almost like it is written in some kind of code.

Women are expected to be more nurturing which might be why they are offered jobs with the public more often than men. Like when you're online, they tend to use a picture of a young, smiling woman to represent the virtual assistant that you might chat with to ask questions regarding your account..... Is this what you're talking about? If not, then I'm lost too. :D

Pretty much the same thing. Reliance on that stereotype to some degree.

It also has to do with the fact that men are typically expected to acheive "better" than customer service. Women are more likely to receive low-paying work, and not progress further due to the belief that men naturally make better managers. In some work places, women are over-represented, but only at the lower levels. As you move further up the ladder, there tend to be more and more men.

Reliance by the employer or the customer? I cofounded a small company and if my customers told me that they'd be most comfortable speaking to "xxxx", I'd probably hire "xxxx" over anything else if their qualifications were good enough.
