This is going to be a journal of my job hunt, which started a few weeks ago.

9/6/2009: Applied for GIS Technician job in Rapid City, SD.
9/6/2009: Applied for GIS Technician job in Raleigh, NC.
9/6/2009: Applied for Assistant Director of Housing and Community Development, City of Austin, TX (not qualified)
9/6/2009: Applied for Envronmental Coordinator, and Community Development Specialist, both with the City of San Antonio, TX.

So far, the Mid-Atlantic area has the most potential, from what I've seen.

Update: I heard from the position in Raleigh, NC, and they had filled the position. There were 200 APPLICANTS for that position!! !

I have a phone interview next week with the South Dakota position, and I applied for a position in the Boston area and one in the San Francisco Bay area.

Also, I went to a job fair today, and got a few leads, and now have a professional network of about 10 people now.

The deadline for the job in Boston was extended a whole month (which I have already applied to), and I applied to a job in Omaha, NE.
