I'm new at being a college instructor, and while I LOVE teaching the students, I HATE the faculty politics. I've given up on the idea of even trying to get tenure. I doubt I'll last a year, let alone five or more.

Just wondering if there are any others out there with similar issues or words of wisdom.

When I was in college, circumstances were that I knew some of my professors and instructors socially. I was kind of a tag along with an older friend at parties but I used to listen with dismay at what amounted to high school politics. Who's screwing who, how drunk they got last weekend, who's in-who's out etc.

LOL - if only I could get the dirt on my colleagues, work life might be more enjoyable!
