Teaching english as second language...feedback?

Hi, anybody done so or know someone who did? I'm thinking of applying to teach english as a second language in Europe, but it's proving to be a lot of red tape. Anyone?

I've done it. Got the chance because I knew someone whose mother was a HoD in the college that approached me. But because of it being a local - and very small - adult education college, and because of the recession, I got about 2 yrs' work there before enrolments subsided across the board.
