moving the office
My electronics shop is moving to a new building. The older building next door is still being used for us, but the area that was the repair shop is now going to become warehouse space due to our success. I've got a new desk, and all new test equipment. Better yet, my desk is near middle of the shop where I can see all around. There's no cubicles and stuff around and it feels very open. Best of all, I can see out of windows both in front the building and in the back. I also have control over the lights, and the HVAC equipment, along with the two other techs that share the repair area with me...we aren't at the mercy of the sales team or the accounting people in the rest of the building.
As we moved in, we went and planned it all out, precisely organizing everything by measuring the furniture, and the layout of the new building. As we moved things, we cleaned a bunch of stuff out like broken test equipment, and equipment that was beyond repair and some of the worn out and damaged furniture. The new place looks great, and is very neat, clean and organized.
Still, as much as I like the new location, there's just something that's stressful about the whole idea of moving into a new place. I'm not sure what it is. I supposed to be happy about this, but I'm sort of filled with anxiety for some reason.
