So, i just applied for a job at McDonalds and i really hope i'm gonna get the job, because i REALLY need the money. Has anyone here any experience with working in fast food restaurants and might know what i'm to expect? I actually often eat at this particular restaurant and it's never crowded, like some other fast food restaurants i've been to, so it may not be as stressful.

I've worked for Subway, Taco Bell, and Sonic. The money and experiance are about the only two proes I see in fast food. One could stack the cons. Forgive me. Slow is good to start in, unless it's running out of business entirely. If it's 10am to 1pm with very few customers, then their store isn't getting alot of money. You don't live in a small town do you? If they have been advertising "now hireing" for weeks to years, there is something wrong with the employee enviroment.

Usualy in fast food things are done in haste, so some materials will still have liquids that haven't dried yet when your coworker pulls it away for use. People think the drive through is always faster than going inside. It's not always faster just because people use cars. Some customer will come along eventualy to hold up the line long enough for some ignorant person to then and later hold up the line by groaning at you. Not like it's your fault, but they'll blame you anyway just to feel better.

Some trucks will drown out the driver's voice, and you will have to ask them to turn off their vehicle. If they get mad, well too bad for them. Some coworker will be a doche bag to. I've dealt with a couple of people that were worse and more frustrating then my worst customers. Occasionaly, the sprite or myst flavoreing box goes empty, and nobody checks it. Thus, they give their customer a cup of carbinated water without knowing it. Lastly, something will always be unfinished.

I hope I helped sumarize what's to be expected in a typical fast food.

You can get a better paying job at a resteraunt like Swiss Chalet, Fridays, Outback Steak House, or Red Lobster but I have to warn you these places seem to attract a lot of jerks who like to pick on people with AS. I worked at a Swiss Chalet for 9 years because I could not get hired somewhere else. It was 9 years of hell having to deal with scum of the earth who hated their miserable lives and they took it out on me. You will run into the same types of people in fast food aswell.

I worked at a Burger King and it lasted 5 hours before I quit. I was getting yelled at instead of trained. I took it as a winter job when I was doing landscaping in the summer. I made more money than the manager in the summer and I thought the guy was a joke so. He started yelling at me for taking too long changing a garbage bag so I laughed at him and then threw the garbage bads out of the box spreading them across the floor. He just about sh!t his pants when I walked pass him to leave but he thought I was walking towards him to get him.

I don't have much hope to get the job now, turns out a woman who applied for a job at the same restaurant got turned down because she's black. And since I've got a very foreigner sounding last name I'm afraid they won't want to hire me :(
Maybe I should have sent a picture with my job applications to show them i'm white :?
It's a crazy, crazy world...

I worked at McDonals, UK. Not a bad job. Cooking the burgers are pretty easy. Just for me, the till was very hard. Took a while to get it.

Now I just deliver pizzas. Much better I think. out and about, see some lovely ladies. Radio on in the car, nice and warm.

It won't hurt you to apply. If they don't hire you so what just put out another application somewhere else. It took 10 jobs in 12 years before I found one I was good at.
