I've been doing the paid blogging type thing, and it's really not something I could live off of. I get paid 1 cent per word and so far they've sent me assignments for like 300 word articles, and my Aspie nature makes me research a bit and put more time into it than I think they expect, so I'm basically making 3 bucks an hour. But I keep doing it for the extra money and I keep telling myself I can have it on a resume. I've been trying to supplement it with some other online ventures like designing t-shirts on cafepress.com. I'm trying to get more into creating fonts and going into illustration.
One thing I thought about doing though is start a non-profit. In the states, I bet the gov't would hook me up with some grant money to provide free training to companies on diversity and customer service. Haha, we so need it out here. I also thought about my local area needing more resources for autism, and I got to thinking maybe something like an agency who advocates children in the school system, assist the school system in setting up autistic programs, providing free training on autism (to anyone including the school system), helping adult aspies find jobs and get passed the autistic barriers, help find employers who are more autistic friendly, and help people get to the resources that currently exist...etc.
Otherwise, I almost suggest looking at your special interests and turning it into a business, but be careful doing that. It's not as fun when you are forced by deadline to delve into it as opposed to just doing your interest on a whim. I'm even realizing my monologues I cannot even do on command. LOL
Some business ideas I've thought about doing in the past, but for whatever reason didn't pursue...
Owning a bridal boutique/florist (I didn't because the woman was asking for too much)
starting a pizza joint (now that I have kids, not wise because you work a lot of hours, and the pay isn't too awesome)
doing home deliveries to any restaurant/groceries/etc. (low start-up, but I would only make money if I were available through my hours of operation and hard to do with kids)
operating a drive-thru carryout (same as above, I'd have to be there a lot)
Owning a bar/night club (Liquor license not easy to get, and you'd want to be there a lot too, but that would be late at night)
