So to get back into a job I just literally hopped onto a bus years ago in the middle of the night and took off from, I have to come back in under medical.

Nothing else will work, except a medical reason. so my question is, how do I go about this? I just want to peacefully work there again, it pays the best and provides the most stable hours in this economy. Is there a form I bring into them? some doctors note?

They will let me attach whatever I want to a form and bring it in, so I want to make it something that stands out rather then has me tossed into a trash can

Anyone had experiences like this before with a job? how did you get back in under a medical reason?

Thanks!

Why?

I would make a list of my reasons as symptoms of stress or whatever and then ask a doctor to confirm them ... and then also include whatever assurance you might now have as to having since overcome that kind of thing.

felt overwhelmed, and stressed by alot of politics and stuff going on. Now I feel like I can better tolerate them, especially because I have a clearer path to more affordable living space..

I would be going back for a custodial job, so it's not like i'm asking for the world in being accomodated. not that hard to scrub toilets and push brooms, did it before

should I put "aspergers" on the form and leave it there, or just toss the word medical on it and await a reply? Does the hippa act prevent them from heavily digging into my past? if they ask me stuff and I clam up with hippa, could that get me tossed out?

Apparently you just kinda have to toss the word medical at them and they may let you back in, but you have to clear the power struggle hurdles at the front in the hiring area first (ie getting it to trickle back towards HR versus glorified hiring recruiters towards the front)

I know nothing about "hippa", and I would not mention AS/HFA. I would simply offer some kind of simple documentation with "M.D." on it somewhere and showing myself fit to perform the required work without fear of recurrence.

You need to think about a job somewhere else.

The situation is usually that people that are no call/no show usually are not eligible for rehire unless there is a medical reason.
HR people will probably have to play by the rules. There are probably strict policies about this (at least at every place I've worked).
If you are currently seeing a psychiatrist than you might be able to convince them to write a letter for you. That is what they would want a letter from a doctor saying you were unable to work. hippa is the health privacy laws which is not relevant because they are not asking for your medical records.
So you would have to see a doctor and convince them that you had a crises of some kind and write a note, which if I read correctly isn't going to happen because this occurred years ago.
If you wrote a letter saying you walked off a job because you have aspergers and were stressed, realistically that probably wouldn't work.

Unfortunately I have "done it wrong" due to bipolar disorder which is a legitimate medical problem. I was severely depressed and I didn't call my employer get a dr. note to them talk about disability etc. No I just didn't show up to work anymore because I was severely depressed and I didn't care as a result I was terminated. I tried to be rehired 2 years later and I was told I would need documentation to show I was disabled which I didn't have so therefore I was not eligible for rehire.

You should probably ask yourself how you would better handle this situation should it occur again. I don't know what the answer to that is.

I hope this is helpful to you.
Sorry to be such a downer

having asked around, all I need is the medical stuff to get back in. They ban you for life, unless you throw the medical card at them. Pathetic power ploy, but it's typical corporate america
