Pizza hut is the greatest job in the world. Alright, not really, but its somewhere you can learn a lot about the world in a more casual enviroment. I've worked as a cashier and a driver there and it was very fun. Dont get me wrong, it can be stressful and very high paced. But you learn that you can deal with the pressure and that, over all, MOST people arent that bad.
A few tips
If you're customer service, empathize. Its said autistics can't empathize or what not, thats bull. all you really need to learn from this tip is to place yourself in the person you're talking to's shoes. If they didnt get thier food on time or it was the wrong pizza, its obviously a problem and someone at your stores fault. You dont go yelling at the cook or your coworkers, anbd you sure as heck dont yell at the customer. You respond in a manner you would wish to be treated. You express that you're sorry that there was a mistake and offer to fix the problem.(most managers will take care of angry customers, you just need to learn to ask for help whenyou need it)
If you're a driver(or helping a carryout), make sure you grab cheese and peppers. Get napkins and plates as well. It shows the customer you care about thier business and will impress your boss.
Dont just stand around, especially your first few days. If you have nothing to do, ask your boss what you can do to help. If you arent that busy but the cooks have a million orders to do, make sure they have all the toppings they need to cook the pizza. If they dont have the toppings, the pizza takes longer to cook and more angry customers are likely.
Try to be as possitive and "happy" as you can at work. If something is bothering you, dont be afraid to talk to your boss. But dont make a scene in front of your co workers. Ask your boss if you can speak to them in private.
Be comfortable with your coworkers, but dont be too open. You're there to work, not socialize(although it is a great way to make great friends). You also dont want people to think you're over dramatic, or a pity seeker. You keep things simple. Music, tv, movies, stuff like that is ok to talk about but if its busy, you do your job. There will be nights that you have no business and will be wondering what to do, those are the nights you do your projects the bosses ask you to do, while being a little more social with people
All in all, pizza hut is a great place to work. You just have to be the best worker you can and people will get used to you as time goes on
