mini rant.
Currently trying to switch off after a really bad week.
Work has been very stressful and found out on Wed I've made a HUGE mistake that I'll be lucky to retain my job after the bosses get back from hols,
2 member of extended family are very ill and one not likely to make it past xmas,
ad to round it off I crashed my company car this morning (my fault), partly i think to being so tired and stressed, so had to go to hospital to get x rayed (nothing broken) but somewhat bruised so am on painkillers for the next few days while visiting one of the relatives mentioned above.
Dad will take the piss about the crash and I've found out that my last job is being re-advertised at £5k more than I got paid for it...

and breathe. (painfully)

Can you reapply for your old job?

I know there's no way to soothe about impending death of loved ones. Just had the thought maybe you could give them some "just-because" presents now. Letters or drawings maybe. Outings, food you make for them, just your presence.

I'm sorry about your job situation and the car crash, sounds awful.

I hope you find some things to cheer you up and relax you.

*Virtual, mental hugs*

I'm really sorry this has happened to you, life can be really horrible sometimes. Keep your head up, spend time with your family and take breaks when you need it, nobody deserves to be so horribly stressed.

Hope you feel better soon. You shouldn't feel guilty as anyone under stress would have done the same. Is there any chance of booking some time off?
I've been advised to do this as the more stressed I become the more I will struggle with things and it's better to take a planned day off than just go off sick for much longer.

One thing that helps me face impending badness (if not potentially fatal) is I've looked to the distant past where similar impending doom has been an issue, then looked to how it resolved. How I still have a home and family and food. Somehow I always get through the painful bit.

Then I look to the impending doom, then I look further into the future and see how it too must resolve (even if I don't know how yet), and there will be clear skies again. I mean seriously, will you still be dealing with it in ten years time. nope, it'll just be another bad memory if you can be bothered dredging it up.

Adjust attitude to something like 'ah well, here it comes. Just get through it and onto something else.'

Update.
I'm a little calmer now.
Bosses (husband and wife) are still away although I swapped emails with the MD this morning. Still none the wise ass to whether I'll retain my job.
If I keep the job I'll find a small place to rent during the week to improve the amount of sleep I get, and hope that most of the cost will be saved by the reduction in my fuel commuting cost (which is currently more than my mortgage).
I'm also going to update my Cv this week and send it out, on the assumption I don't keep my job.
