Hi guys,

I just started a thing called Scentsy. You can see my page at www.scentsy.com/darcyj76 You can sell really cool stuff, but you don't actually have to have the "parties" in person, you can do it all online! I'm not sure if it works yet or not, but I thought I'd through that out there for some of you who might need extra income.

And hey, if you want to buy anything from my page, feel free. It actually is really neat stuff and makes very nice gifts for people (I never know what to buy as gifts).

Let me know what you think.

Darcy

Hi there, I've been looking into companies like this so I can work from home but almost all of them require you to host those dreaded and (dreadful) "parties" 8O You say you can just sell this stuff online? If so, that would be great :D Do you sell much stuff? There are lots of different companies, I wonder which are the best? I want to sell products that I myself really like, I've never seen any Scentsy stuff so I don't know if I like it or not. Thank you for posting, I want to hear from aspies who do this and manage to side-step hosting parties. What I don't get is, why are consultants even needed? Can't people just order direct from a main Scentsy website? I'm not sure how these things work :?

I don't exactly "get" it yet, either, actually. I think the big thing is that if you do it all online, you really have to push people to go to the site and order things. BUT - to even get started, you have to order a starter kit, which has samples and stuff.

But there's another option to hosting a party, and that is a "basket party", where you send some samples, some catalogs and order forms with someone you know to their workplace or whatever, and they keep it there for a week and then people send the orders back to you with the person.

I'm sucking it up and having a party, but the good thing about the parties is that the "host" is not you, you get someone else to do it, and you just bring the Scentsy stuff. Then the "host" (not you) does all the talking and socializing, and you are just there to answer questions about the products.
