I've had tons of jobs.
I couldn't keep any of them because even though I enjoyed them somewhat, I couldn't stay focused and suddenly...I was thinking about radishes or some other bullcrap. I would be on the phone and I would doze and bam, I needed help to snap out of it. I can't hold a job worth crap.
Take someone who has IBS, which means I am in the bathroom too long before work, during work, and after work. Add sleep apnea, which makes it hard to wake up in the morning, stay awake at work, and stay awake on the drive home. Add a BO problem, even with bathing and deodorant, which makes me less than a charming companion at any time. Add chronic life long depression, which makes me not a fun person to have around. Add Asperger's syndrome, which makes it take longer for me to process input, and hard for me to engage in even basic social contacts, and the type of person that NTs think of as weird. Now, add a job. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! ! I am laughing through my tears. I can't tell you how many jobs I have had over the years. Most were through temp agencies, so the employers didn't have to put up with my problems for long. Most I didn't really care for, but was very willing to do, as it beat being broke, and with my problems any job was better than none.
My other health problems got worse over the years, so I was no longer able to work, even as a temp. I was finally able to qualify for SSI several years ago, so I have money to live on. I realize that in my situation, the only way I could possibly go back to work would be to work for myself, but I am not good at anything, and my health problems leave me with no time or energy to do anything, so that is out.
I suggest you look into self employment. Find something you are interested in, and may be good at. Take some business courses, either in person, or online. Also, take courses in what you are interested in working at. Some of the online colleges offer free courses. They just won't give you credits or any certificate or degree for the free ones. You have to pay for credit courses and the certificates and degrees. The free ones are still a good option, if you don't have the money for the pay ones, as you can make use of what you learn, and you can still mention it on your resume.
I hope this helps you.

I went through this, now I can focus better but in a limited way. I went on Paxil once, and it curbed my anxiety but I couldn't focus on my job. So it's a trade off I guess.
Yes, this is my problem as well. I have been on Prozac (Fluoxetine) for about 4 months now which helps the anxiety (somewhat) but I find that I am no more and even less focused. I tend to zone out, lose focus & and cannot focus whatsoever on the average 'office' cubicle job'. I am working at a temp job for the next 5 weeks. Like every other job I held, no one has confidence in my ability -- the other temps will probably get offered full time employment while I will be lucky to make it to the end of this assignment
