I got confirmed for a job (I checked some boxes saying I accepted the job and everything) and am just waiting on when there will be an orientation. It has been almost a week and I have no idea how much longer I will need to wait.

A watched pot never boils. I keep busy and think about other things until the wait is over. I suggest you do the same.

This. I'm applying for jobs where it can literally take months for them to get back to me. So I do two things: Constantly apply for new jobs in case the old ones don't pan out, and play more video games than I've ever played before in my life. Not only do the video games take up my free time, but they also help me sleep. Instead of getting insomnia from worrying about a job application coming through, I fall asleep thinking about the game and what to do in it next.

Firstly, don't get your hopes up. Move on and keep applying for many others. Don't expect anything. The vast majority of places aren't even courteous enough to send a rejection email so you at least know. If you just wait around in expectation you'll end up disappointed, which probably has nothing to do with you personally. It's just the way the job market is at the moment. I've applied for so many now. Been unemployed since last summer. Most of them never get back to me. Only ever gotten a handful of replies saying no and only a couple saying they'd like an interview or that I could come in and do some work experience for them.
