As soon as my dad finishes his overtime at work this summer, I'll be making an appointment with my Vocational Rehabilitation counselor to discuss Vocational Rehab at the Commonwealth of Virginia's Department for Aging and Rehabilitative Services (or DARS). Before I ask for advice, let me explain in just a brief paragraph what happened when I was with the Department of Rehab Services (before it became DARS) the last time I was with them.
In May-June of 2009, I worked for 2 and 1/2 days before I quit. I couldn't concentrate on my work, I had intimate feelings for my job coach (meaning I was attracted to her). I had to work on Fridays because my dad had the car during the week, and it was too much on my physical and mental health. I was on my feet all day. I only got a 15-min break, and I had to work for 4 hours. My hours were from 12:00pm-4:00pm. I only got one day off, and that was when my job coach had to go to a meeting at the Department of Rehab Services HQs in Richmond. My length of time I worked was from May 29th, 2009-June 19th, 2009. I was off June 12th, 2009. I got paid federal minimum wage, which was $6.55/hr at the time, but I had 15 minutes withdrew from my paycheck on June 5th for not working. Now, it's $7.25/hr. My last paycheck was $13.10. After I quit working, I had requested to have my case closed with DRS.
Now that I'm about ready to get back with DRS (again, it's now DARS), I need some advice on how to manage work stress and not quit after I begin working.
