I had an interview exactly this time last week and it went very well. It was for a teller position at a bank, and I went down to their state HQ (I live in Michigan, so it was near Detroit). It seemed to go really well because we were discussing wage possibilities, career possibilities and time schedules. I also had a second interview on Thursday at the actual branch I applied at and they introduced me to most of their management staff (one was on holiday), talked about wage and schedules, and even talked about things as if I was hired. I was really excited and I think the interviews went well...

One problem though.

They said they'd call me back early this week but it's Tuesday and still nothing... when do you think I should call back? HR is the one deciding and the lady who was deciding was out of office until yesterday, but I'm still worried that I might have been blown off or something.

Glad to hear the interview went well - that's the first step!
I would say wait a week before calling back to find out what is going on - selection processes do take time. On the other hand, a polite call to find out what is going on would be completely in order a week after the expected date of communication.

Did you send a thank you note for the interview? If you didn't, now would be a great time.

Yup, I did that last Thursday. I think I'm going to first send an email tomorrow morning... but should I send it to the recruiting person or the actual HR lady who interviewed me?... It's tough. lol

I might be leaning on the former just because she's kind of like the secretary of sorts for the HR lady? I also called her because she tried to set up an interview, I couldn't that week and I had to get back to her on her schedule. Maybe I should "get back to her" on how the hiring process is going? If I get this job it'd be a total boon and I know I'd do a good job too...
