Do you worry about retirement?

Having enough money? What you will do when you are old and can't work? Saving? Gone are the nice pensions, what are parents have today does not exist anymore? Do you think about this problem?

Yes! I don't think I'll be able to retire... not in this lifetime. They'll find me cold, still sitting at my work desk. I'm concerned about getting old.

Then again, I still have this crazy dream of winning the lottery.

Not really worried about retirement, I plan on working 'til the end.
I do have a retirement system I pay into (not just SS), but I'm not going to depend on it either.
I'll probably just get another job..... :tired: .

retirement? I really don't think that's an issue. Aspies just don't live that long. At least one or more of our unbreakable habits will get us before we hit 65. Suicide rates are also rather high among aspies and they shoot up sky high once you hit 50-60... but that is true with the general population as well. IF you make it to old age AND you are able to work, then by all means work. IF you hit old age, and you are NOT healthy enough to work, do you really want to still be around?

I save up precious metals to store value, but mostly I think I'll probably work my whole life anyway. Why break your routine and spend 10 years sitting around and dying?

that's pretty smart. I work as a carpenter and the price of nearly all metals have been increasing for the past 50 years. Especially these last 10 years with increasing demand in china and india. My personal favorite is Copper. you can buy copper bricks and store them indefinitely in a dry place

As human life expectancy and quality go up, I think we will see a change in what retirement means. I maintain a private retirement account in addition to SS but by the time I get to that age, I expect it will be common for people to work part time to supplement their income if only because life will be so damn boring.
