Yep. FML. I really really do not want a Facebook. I want my old internet back, damnit, with like geocities sites about Dragonball Z... It's like the Reese's commercial "You got real life in my internet!" except in this case, the combo turned out way worse.

I refuse FB too. Nobody is going to force that kind of crap on me ever! Who needs to know what others had for lunch or that they farted? Idiotic BS.

I have my own web page instead.

I don't see the need to give Facebook a license to use whatever I wish to post in any way they wish to use it.

  • Facebook would cost me time and privacy. For what? It would be of no use at all to me. That means, of course, I won't use facebook.
  • Every professional employer will understand that fact. In other words, no serious businessman would use (or expect employees to use) something that causes expenses but no benefits.
  • As I'm not starving or living on the street, I don't want an unprofessional employer. That means, I don't need facebook to get a job. 8)

I have a Facebook page but I'd probably never tell an employer because I don't use my real name and it's locked down as private as I can make it. I only use it to communicate with a few real life friends and I'd no more let an employer see it than let them read my e-mail account, read my snail mail, or tap my phone. It's private.

If I did end up telling them because I didn't want to lie it would probably be too much trouble to get them to understand that it's private and they can't see it.

Same here. I can't use my real name for safety reasons, but it's nice to be able to communicate with people I know from real life. Plus, having everything private prevents employers from reading all my crazy statuses...

It's really sad. So you have to be a sheep and follow the rest of the world spanking the monkey on their facebook fame. I will never join and this is making me hate it even more.
