If you aren't squeamish. OK, funeral homes are now becoming chains. The small ones are being bought out and managed by big companies. Many of them have one central location where all the embalming, restoration, cosmetic work, etc is done on the bodies. Unlike many places, these embalmers do not have to deal with family or anything like that. They dont have to sell anything. They just embalm and restore etc. They are hired based on technical skills and not personality or communication. I mean who is there to communicate with at work? You work alone in a room with dead people. As long as you don't have a history of necrophilia and you are good at what you do, you're in. You can make up to 60 grand a year doing that.
If you're interested, most junior colleges have a program in funeral service management. Call them. You will have to do an apprenticeship and talk to families some during that year but otherwise you only work with the dead.
