If you aren't squeamish. OK, funeral homes are now becoming chains. The small ones are being bought out and managed by big companies. Many of them have one central location where all the embalming, restoration, cosmetic work, etc is done on the bodies. Unlike many places, these embalmers do not have to deal with family or anything like that. They dont have to sell anything. They just embalm and restore etc. They are hired based on technical skills and not personality or communication. I mean who is there to communicate with at work? You work alone in a room with dead people. As long as you don't have a history of necrophilia and you are good at what you do, you're in. You can make up to 60 grand a year doing that.

If you're interested, most junior colleges have a program in funeral service management. Call them. You will have to do an apprenticeship and talk to families some during that year but otherwise you only work with the dead.

No, I haven't seen it but I know that rigor doesn't last all that long.

Dead bodies don't bother me. Unless there were bugs in them, that would. I hate maggots. Also, eyes bother me so putting the eye cups in would gross me out, but other than that, I'd be good to go.

Why do dead bodies bother you?

Eww gross... Don't forget you have to put plug like things in their anus, adding to the fact that a lot of people go #2 when they die. Enjoy your stinky dead anus! I won't be joining you!

Hmm, good question. I have a phobic reaction to bugs, and dead fish( when they were leaping out of my aquarium). Part of it was the unexpectedness of it though so hard telling-- I've only been to two funerals and I was very young at the first.
I did learn about Tibetian Sky Burial on her site. I've never heard vultures portrayed in a romantic light before :P . Are you looking to pursue this careerwise yourself?

I went to her website and I'm watching all of them now. I'm hooked! She's hilarious!

That's got to be one of the most depressing/gross jobs you can have in my opinion

I don't even like touching live people most of the time. I can't imagine touching dead ones. 8O It sounds fascinating, but only in theory.
