I can't counsel you on what to say or not to say. But I thought I would include a sample of what I myself have told my manager during an informal discussion of quirks. I plan to do it more indepth later on once I have been in my position a bit longer.
Here goes.
First, rather than refer to AS as a disorder, focus on it more as a learning style or communication style. That's what it is,
"As part of our meeting, I’d like to give you some information about my learning style. I have recently discovered that I have Asperger's"
Although everyone with Asperger's is different, there are some core issues. Some include organizational issues, including the ability to break a project down into specific parts. Others include difficulties with reading social cues. I know that I work best when I am given specific instructions, and I know how to ask for them" (you can modify this section as need be).
Asperger's comes with a set of desirable traits for the workplace. I know that I have a high level of determination to persist with difficult tasks. I am also able to focus on one task under a deadline. (come up with other Aspie traits you have that might work well.
I have been told personally that I am _________ (fill this in with good things you have heard). I am also working hard on my ability to _______. I have identified some accommodations that I feel will help me on the job. List accommodations that were advised that you think will be relevant.
