At this point it's pretty essential to rely on other human beings to get stuff done no?

You need something, you barter for it with this thing called "cash" or maybe "credit" and you make dealings with large groups of humans called "companies". With me so far?

The problem I’m running into is that companies websites, marketing devices, anything I find on them makes them look reputable.

“Open 9-5 weekdays and holidays”

“Free inspection with every purchase of a service package”

“Repeat customers get 5% off”

“Email for consultation and quote”

Till I try and deal with them. Them. The grunts.

Why in the blazes are the people with whom the barteree interacts so dense?? The least paid, most resentful and least interested humans in this group known as a company are always the ones I deal with.

"Can't get that part for you right now, on coffee break"

"Come in and see me, I don't give quotes over the phone"

“Free delivery” (Awesome I’ll take it, here’s my address..) “Never talks to me again”

. . .

Next one gets bludgeoned with a flimsy unwieldy pool skimmer!

Fruitsy tootsie cutesy wootsie.

I hear ya. I once tried to buy a laptop online via intRAnet from the company I worked for which manufactured the damn things and the website wouldn't let me purchase it, so I called someone. She said she'd call me when she figured out what was going on. I guess she never figured it out cuz she never called me back. Pretty bad when you get mistreated by the company you work for, by a so-called coworker. They eventually laid me off so I'm glad I didn't buy their damn laptop.

Exactly- I suppose it's because there's enough customers to go around but even with the little mom-n'-pop shops around town it happens.. I'm starting to ignore all the glorious wording on websites because the people running the shops rarely follow through.

Especially junkyards. Dunno what's up with them..
