Employer Behavior
Hi,
I had a question that I had been wondering about in terms of hired now days.
Let's say that one gets hired on for a job and is set to a certain start date. Then when the work date comes close, that person is told to wait another month due to the company not being ready for them. Then the second month comes and then deja Vu. Next, that person is scheduled for a meeting with their new boss one month later. Yet, the boss takes off at the last minute while the assistant manager is asked to fill in at the meeting instead. Although this person does not get a work date or any type of code to work at home, they are given a list of their duties and tasks for this new job. Then they never hear from this company again even though they attempt to call or e-mail a few times.
What do you call this type of behavior when one says that you are hired and keeps stringing you along? I have never understood it myself.
Actually, I had seen people who get hired and the employers seem to string them along like a gullible child with a dollar on a string.
I know of two other people that were told they were hired.
The other two were pretty bad but not like they. Instead, they were told to go in on a certain date and then they would and they would say that they were not ready and to come back the next day and would keep doing the same thing for a few weeks. They would keep doing it for days before saying, "Sorry, we hired everyone and are full at this time and cannot hire you."
What I don't understand is that a boss would take off like and leave their assistant human resources manager to give on their duties and not give a start date.
Yes, that last part is pretty inconsiderate but what do you call that when someone gives you something like that?
