I am in the process of getting certified to work in payroll as I have some experience with it and I like the jobs that deal with payroll.

The things about them that are appealing to me is having a strong attention to detail, spending most of your time working with computers, very little time dealing with other people, autonomy and the high salary for entry level jobs compared to other fields. What is working in payroll like for you?

Did they mention the endless complaints from employees, the tight deadlines, thousands of jurisdictions and alphabet soup agencies, and everything on an ever tighter budget?

And that's when everything is working fine.

The good news is that if you build up a good work history in the field, you're not going to starve. You might have to move, but you'll do all right.

Edit: I should have noticed you're in Canada, my comments may not be on point.

Payroll Compliance Practitioner from the Canadian Payroll Association.

I have one course left to become certified. I've worked in customer service before and I'm used to dealing with people complaining and I can handle deadlines. I can't say I will be great at in a payroll job but I have experience with it.

Edit: That's ok, I don't mind.

Is there a similar payroll certification in the United States?

I am a HR manager that controls payroll...

I actually find pay role fun but hate the idiot mistakes some employees make....like accidentally deleting a ceo's file the day before Christmas bonuses. >.<
