Who has or has had the most unfortunate job for your condition which you have to deal with?

I, for one have aspergers and I work at a self-storage facility (I am a manager) and have to work with tenants face to face all day long, tending to their needs (which are usually ridiculous), shaking hands, renting units and answering the phone while constantly having to be in contact with those in corporate (who call me randomly reprimanding me for "playing on my phone" when I should be working) 24/7 via IM and email. They micromanage everything I do. Pretty bad choice for someone with aspergers, eh?

What's been your "bad choice"?

Danmac, I would have gone nuts in a telemarketing job! I am glad for you that you no longer have to suffer. Ha!

if you're referring to my army time, it was a 4-year enlistment which ended in 1988. if it was my telemarketing jobs they were before i entered the army in the early 80s in a desperate [but futile] attempt at keeping a roof over my head.

i'm an unemployed bum now  got laid off by shrub [GWB II] in 2006, had to take care of my elderly parents then, they both passed quickly, had to move out of their house and find another place to live pronto, only place i could afford [being unemployed and definitely not qualified for a housing loan] was out in the sticks in a tin can nestled among the trees. there i remain to this day, gladly out of the rat race. now TheArmstrongclan, can you tell me what do YOU do? enquiring minds want to know ;)

Well, I work your average 9-6 (wish it were 5) job. I manage a self storage facility in the grandiose state of Washington. A lot of rain, a lot of drug addicts and a lot of unhappy people. I wish I could say I fit in, but I don't and it shows that I am from the Midwest. They don't take too kindly to outsider up in these parts. ;) But anyway, lest I digress even further, my job entails me tending to the demands of people all day long. I clean up after people, rent units to folks who look trustworthy and answer phones all day. Pretty boring, really but it becomes extremely overwhelming dealing with people constantly, especially those who yell very often about bad customer service (most of the time I'll give the shirt off my back for the next guy, but sometimes people are too demanding for me). Luckily, my boss is really nice and is understanding, however still micromanages like most owners do.

I worked in real estate for 5 years, first on reception, then on administrative work. The work was mostly fine (reception kind of sucked but mostly because I wasn't very good at the 'chit-chat' and no one [staff] ever returned calls) but real estate agents..... :!: (they're something else).
