Does anyone else here have their own home based business? or maybe even small non-home based business? I'm starting a new podcast highlighting interviews and success tips on how to start a home business be an entrepreneur and succeed while on the autism spectrum and I'd love to interview you if you are one already.

I HAD my own businesses. Because of illness, I no longer do, but incorporate things I learned to bring in a few hundred dollars a month. I am one who totally believes that entrepeneurship is one of the answers for many Autistics. the results of your research could be life changing for many.

A few things I had to do. Write down goals. Break those into actions. find someone to make me accountable to do what I say i will do. Schedule. Keep records [so hard for me] Sometimes utilize a partner. I cannot drive and without a partner who drives I could not do most of the things I did. make commitments to myself, [my integrity refuses to NOT follow through in that case. Sometimes, I hid being autistic. Sometimes I played the "autism card" like crazy [ as in."Yes,we want to help this weird disabled person succeed] Even if your business does not, in itself, pertain to intense interests, find ways to incorporate them into your business. Of course,do not give up your day job. If you are on ssi, be sure to keep rolling all profits into the business until you are making substantial earnings [and remember, no matter how many hours you work, it is less than 80 hours a month. [ breaks the rules a little bit, but this is how one of my friends was able to get off ssi permanently] i think they might even have a program to help you with that.

I found developing a marketable product or service to be the easy part. The harder part for me was doing the sales and marketing. Remember the 5 P's of marketing: People, Product, Place, Promotion, and Price.

I can't say I'm all that successful. Did a lot of free work to earn the gigs I've gotten the past few years.
Working remotely is great for me. I'm primarily a tech editor... occasionally a writer. Niche tech stuff though,
(I'm a SysAdmin during the day.)

i had a business i spend a lot on learning occult stuff and incorporating it into a business
on the lines of Fengshui and Reiki.

I did ok ok and got repeat customers
but the problem was social interaction
confidence and good communication

And the biggest problem was some of the people were trying to fool me
some wont pay up etc...........eventually i got literally mentally burnt out
doing that stuff

I quit....i wont go back to doing it again
its too people oriented.
