So yesterday was an interesting day. I saw my doctor who has referred me for a diagnosis but says that I exhibit all the characteristics of AS and then had to work in the evening.

I used to work in clubs and through those contacts I managed to start DJing. Last night was my fourth set (I find them excruciating and need to drink much to overcome the anxiety). I'm stood in the DJ booth when my DJ software freezes in the middle of the song! It's still playing but I have no control and no way to choose the next song.

So I manage to plug my PHONE into another line and play a song off that while I restart my computer. And it works fine for half an hour until it happens again. I normally feel very stressed while DJing but this sent me over the edge and I could feel myself starting to pass out! My hearing starts reducing and vision becomes blurry. I hung on and thanks to a coca cola and the emotional support of my girlfriend managed to hold it all together and recover over the course of an hour while still trying to DJ. Quite literally on of the most scary experiences of my life. I actually have a recurring nightmare where something similar happens but I never thought it would be realised!

Just thought I'd share to try and get the trauma off my chest...

You are up there having a go and it sounds like you dealt with the problem well.

Practice what to do, or devise a better back up solution, if you have a system crash again.

If it happens again you can deal with it and nobody will even notice.

Remember that you can cope, keep playing and enjoy.

That is quite a bit of stress. I can relate to technical errors, and you did handle it pretty well.

For a solution, I'd suggest re-installing the program if easily possible, it may have a glitch it just developed or a new setting is glitchy. If it is a registry issue you could use Tweaknow registry cleaner (been using it for years), but there is the possibility to also mess with your computer overall (I'd just remove the green items vs the yellow or blue).

writerwill, I think that you did was great...

Were you using Serato Scratch Live or Traktor Pro? And what turntables were you using?
What kind of music were you spinning?

I'm trying to get more gigs myself, and if I had a similar problem, I would've had no one to hold me back like what your girlfriend did.

Sometimes computer programs freeze for random reasons.

Sounds like you thought fast and acted. Good Job.

And now you'll never have to worry again because you have experienced it, so you know what to do next time.
