I'm on SSI and have been for about 3 years. I'm able now to type and possibly talk on the phone (but I have a fear of phones for some reason, they creep me out. I don't like talking to a machine, it's the equivalent of talking to a door knob, too trippy for me, probably from all the drugs I used to do).

Anyone tried this site? - http://myemploymentoptions.com/

I applied and they said they would get back to me. On the SSI ticket to work program there was SO MANY different companies to apply for and I don't know where to start.

Basically my employment history is poor, almost no jobs (and I"m 30). I have a B.S degree with honors. I'm great with the internet and computers in general.

I've had about 7 misdemeanors, the last one was 5 years ago (I quit drinking after that, all charges are alcohol related, DWI's, and one attempted breaking and entering when I threw a lawn chair threw the neighbors front door....lol I need to write a blog on that.

So no work experience, only a few computer skills, and a lot of misdemeanors but I do no drugs/alcohol now.

What can I possibly do??? Anyone got the ticket to work program and found a job online??

Thanks!

I'm currently on Ticket to Work. I'm working through a company called NTI out of Boston. I'm still trying to get through their general certification process, since I failed one of their pre certification tasks.

I used this site and narrowed down (the list of companies) by using my zip code. http://www.chooseworkttw.net/resource/j ... yState.jsp
These are publications about the Ticket to Work program: http://www.chooseworkttw.net/document-l ... index.html
These are archived webinars. You can watch, read the transcripts, etc. The webinars can be really long but I liked the fact that they have close caption. I I contacted an agency I found through the first link and was put on a waiting list. I learned a lot from the webinars and when I got overwhelmed, I switched to reading the transcripts and other materials.
Good luck deciding which agency you want. Remember that you are the customer and the company is making money off of providing you with services. Ask if they have helped clients in your specific situation. Ask what their success rate is. As one webinar speaker said, choose carefully because it is a difficult process to move your ticket to another agency.
