Internet Marketing and the Aspie.
Hi!
I am an entrepreneur at heart, and I love to create products and to arbitrage. As of late, I have had a business that has been yielding around 50 a month, and I am overjoyed. At one point in the past, I had made 150 a month, but that ended. I am good at writing as well, but my problem, as with my current physical products business, is how to market. I can make a mean product, but in between seo on google being hard, and not being all that social , how can an aspie get beyond period success (as in my case) , to being able to have a steady income? I like writing, but I don't feel like writing all the time, and I write on weird topics many people are not interested in. Any thoughts? (I have run my own site, but then google screwed me on seo, and I have been currently using ebay and amazon to make money, although as of late it ha sbeen more Amazon). Is there a way for an aspie good at product creation but poor at marketing to do well in IM?

The answer to your last question would be, probably not. But the fact that you have a product to sell is a lot better position to be in than someone who has no product, but is good at seo. I have been researching this a lot and it is a very strange time at the moment, what with google updating their Penguin algorithm and the Hummingbird update.
The way google are pushing things your best bet at this minute is to focus on branding. make your product become recognizable. Don't go crazy with an seo campaign now, you can get penalized by google for a lot these days, a lot of which aren't really clear at this time. Focus on your product quality, including the website and the articles you have on it. Learn about keywords as that is how you will attract searching customer to your site. Get all that in order first and then you can move on to promotion of some kind.
You want to get to a place where you are keeping your website ticking over with all the hard work done, just keeping it fresh and relevant. Your seo campaign too should hopefully become a bit more passive and unique visits are arriving organically by themselves. After this you will have time to consider scaling your product in some way, to offer something new. Then a promotion campaign for that new product. Repeat over time depending on what are the best intervals. If you really start to do well then you can look into buying paid advertizing. But that's a bit of a risky business from what I've read.
I haven't done any of them things myself but have been looking into it a lot lately.
If you feel you are poor at marketing, why don't you work on this skill. Find a course in copywriting perhaps. I would stick with the online business but be aware that you will need to adjust to change, both in google (Penguin updates etc) and wider technological issues as well as the types of products that are popular. If you can get access to a solid support network and clear up-to-date guidance you have every chance of success if you put the work in. There are firms, like the one I used to work for, that specialize in SEO & SEM.
You could hire one to do that stuff for you and then just concentrate on your business.
...Or you could get a partner who knows SEO, internet marketing, and web development to help you for a share of the profits, assuming they're able to help increase your business to the point where you're generating significant net profits.
I happen to be in that field myself.
Up until 7 months ago I worked for an internet marketing firm and I have contacts who are helping to develop the technology behind the very latest SEO techniques using structured data, so I have access to techniques that literally didn't exist until very recently.
PM me and we can talk about it if you're interested.
