I have an idea of how I might make this work, but I am wondering how bad of an idea it is. I am working now (and have been for a while now) as a respite and habilitation provider. I really want to get into this local Montessori Elementary Education program (this is quite possibly the last time they will ever offer it this way) but it meets for 5 hours a day 9 days a week this summer for a month and a half (early June-mid July), which will make it REALLY hard to work anywhere near full time (still plan to like 7-15 hours a week, but not enough to live on). I know one of the families I work with, and have worked with for around 2 1/2 years now), and get along really well with, has a guest bedroom that they might be open to renting out. How bad of practice would it be to offer them whatever money I can (which will be a fair amount) + child care I have now for 2 months of room and board. I know I probably could offer this to anyone... but aspie... so wouldn't feel comfortable around just anyone, plus I think this family really wants me to succeed seeing as how their son is a much younger version of me so might be willing to tolerate me a bit more so... how bad of an idea is this?

I think it's a good idea. The worst the family can do is say no, it's only a month and a half, so it's not like you're trying to room with them through the length of a four-year degree. Perhaps call the school and see if there are parts of the class that you could miss and make up on your own as well.

Nine days a week? 8O

I'd make the offer, unless you have a boss who wouldn't want you to.

Mod edit: moved to Work and Finding Job since topic correlates better to those topics than GAD forum

Sorry I meant 9 hours a day 5 days a week... and technically I don't think I am ever supposed to ask anything of a client... but I did anyway lol.
