Scathing but balanced review of last employer that Indeed dot com refuses to post --->>

My boss Erik Maltby was super. He tried really hard despite Huntleigh's corporate policy of not rewarding anyone for good work. This guy paid out of his OWN pocket to provide deserving employees for Dunkin Donut gift cards, did X-Mas parties and other nice things for the employees,
when this company wouldn't do a single thing nor offer to pay a single dollar for the effort. Basically all you get is a uniform and
a paycheck. Even the full time employees lost their paid vacations because of some bogus excuse of American Airline Contract at some
obscure airport, and decided to penalize employees system wide! The employees try very hard so do most of the mid level supervisors. I never understood for the life of me why airline station managers and assistant managers are so rude toward not just * employees (but insert Swissport, ServisAir, East Coast etc.).

The low pay and irregular hours are almost not worth the rudeness, aggravation and 2nd class treatment by "airline" employees.
Its already enough pressure as it is with the lousy Boston/New England weather, schedules, passengers! Throw in very rude acting
State Police F troop who, on a daily basis think they are ABOVE the law, Mass Port who as an autonomous agency lives in their own
universe who are grudgingly abiding by federal laws because the HAVE to. If you are working at a place like Logan Airport, its a very
one sided money racket that is stacked against an *A employee. No help from corporate, or Mass port for the privilege of parking, which is almost 24 dollars in the economy lot. Slightly less at the Chelsea employee lot which is fraught with problems being located on the other side of well, you guessed it-the Chelsea River whose bridge sometimes work when it wants. Even if I commuted by either Plymouth Brockton or Peter Pan its at least 110 a week, and Peter Pan refuses to sell commuter booklets! Still no help to defray the costs of transportation. I am not asking * or any other airline or airport organization to pay all of my costs but try to offer at least
a $50-75 subsidy. You expect me to be at work on time, sure; but please meet us halfway!

Mass Port employees at the security office (SIDA badge side have a cold self-entitled personality of a brick). A cordial tip of hat
to the state police who do the fingerprint CHRC checks, they at least have a personality and try to be friendly. Some US Customs and
Border patrol officers are nice but is a rare exception. Most of them also think their S-Word doesn't stink and get their jollies
off by harassing airline and airport employees. Unfortunately this attitude is pervasive not just at Logan but every other airport
I hear. A very homophobic culture at Logan Airport. This airport is not an ideal place if you are a gay employee.

Equally confusing is the state of Mass. is the most liberal state in the US, with toughest work laws. That seems not phase the corporate
wigs that run the company in HOU Texas. Texas is a very conservative leaning socially and politically, which means its a "right to work"
AND "at will" employer which I am very surprise they are allowed to function as a business and tenant at Logan International Airport of
East Boston MA.

It was a good run for the three years as a part timer, despite the above negatives listed I had a somewhat decent schedule which
allowed me to run a taxi business on the South Shore as an director of operations. The job at * was a nice diversion from the high
pressure job as a small business operator. At least I got to relax and do something else. I liked working around large commercial
airlines and am working on obtaining my airframe and powerplant licenses. I had an extraordinary opportunity in 2011 to work with
an generous aircraft mechanic to show me the ropes to embark on a second career as an aircraft mechanic. He was an advocate for me. After Jan 2012, he got transferred and my positive experience went downhill.

At least the negative experiences let me see first hand on how to deal with the negative energy and grumpy personnel of all classes.
Unfortunately at Logan airport its a grand canyon wide disparity of the haves and haves not. Continual class warfare worsened by the
poor economy. I feel sorry for the secure clean employees only being paid 8.50 an hour, supervisors barely ticking at 11 an hour. How
on God's green earth can someone make it in East Boston?!?

My sharp critical advice to airline operators and tenants not just at Logan but ANY airport. You GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. Remember
don't expect a lot of accountability and ownership of the job for less than 10 bucks an hour in one of the most expensive cities
in the country. High turnover from the cyclical changes affects employee loyalty. If you keep trying to underbid and undersell your
work to the lowest bidder on the ramp, then don't cry, fuss, and whine when you experience thefts, vehicle/aircraft damages and
employees who show no motivation to come to work for nothing else than less than $10 an hour and just a uniform! Hey, at least I
got great hi-res pictures of my favorite airplanes. Aloha!.

an employer will double and triple-down on "I own you!" until they have no choice, like if they can't get anybody to work for them. but in this deliberately hobbled economy they will always have a captive audience of desperate people who will slave for them.
