The part time job I had to help with the bills is now officially over. The lady has finally gone out of business. I had planned on taking over her customers but it has been done in such a fashion that her customers probably now have new vendors.

After I pay the property taxes this year, I won't have any income that I can count on. All of my clients for piano work have cancelled their orders due to economic hardships.

I really need to find a way to earn some money. I have no idea what I am going to do or how.

Any suggestions? I could sure use some good guidance and direction. I am lost.

Temporary agencies often have entry level positions like file clerk, accounts receivable, etc.
Some big box stores increase hiring for the holidays especially in their sales clerk and shipping & receiving departments.
WorkSource in your state's DSHS office helps with employment.
If you can prove you're on the spectrum, your state's DVR can help.
Fast food is always an option if you can stand for long periods of time.

I've already applied at every fast food place in town. This is a small area and temp agencies aren't hiring men for clerical positions. They don't say as much but they practice it. I had one fellow tell me that "the skirt wouldn't fit" after asking to be considered for the administrative assistant job at the company he managed, even though I was more qualified than any of the women he was interviewing.

Retail centers are flooded. Again, applications are submitted but no calls are being received.

The closest big box stores like circuit city, best buy, etc. are over 80 miles away and all refuse in person applications, and to my knowledge never hire more than 20 mile radius from their store. I can prove status but getting dvr assistance here is next to impossible as the department just really doesn't exist. I am going back again monday to try to get them to do something other than sit on the phone chatting while ignoring me.

I have been to dhs asking for help with getting work and they just referred me to the employment commission, which simply put my skills in a database and told me to check my email every day and apply online for any positions that I qualify for.

It's all be automated by computers and evidently my skills don't make it past the computerized screening process.
