After reading a post from another user (name withheld), I feel as though I'm very much in the same situation as him/her. However, I have several years on him and my job is a full-time gig with benefits (vacation, health, sick leave, etc.) But, there are times that getting an early out from work may well make if a part-time job in disguise.

So, I feel as though it may be time for me to move on as well. On saying that, I'm probably going to get the same advice as this person did. I await your reaction...

What kind of job do you have?

Truthfully, I wouldn't leave a job with benefits, especially in this economy. Health insurance costs are through the roof, unless you have benefits.

The ideal (especially for an Aspie) is for one to obtain a Civil Service job, where the benefits are great and the pension is great. I've worked at my job for 33 years (it's very repetitive and mind-numbing--but I see the forest after I put up with the trees  ). However, I know that in 8 3/4 years, I could retire with a decent pension and work at a job I really like. I could then take a trip around the world.

not sure what you read that makes you doubt the wisdom of staying in your situation, but in today's economy especially, if you have a secure job and you don't hate it, and you have nice bennies and a nice situation where you don't even have to be there always to make it effectively full-time - you might regret leaving. good jobs are hard to find, and most employers want to milk you dry. do you have a burning desire to do something else?
