I haven't worked for a couple of years now but when I look back at my working life I'm pretty sure that I will never take on a job again. I hated every job I ever had with a vengeance and my work totally destroyed me in the end. I don't think I would even be around anymore if I had to keep on working.

Luckily neither my fysical health nor my form of aspergers allows me to work and I couldn't care less. Being a hermit is my true goal in life and that is what I am going to dedicate myself to. Up until the recent past I payed my share of taxes when I was still working which lasted for years and years. That is the reason why I don't feel guilty to be on disablity benefit now. I used to be one of those people who contributed to the fact that the benefit system still exists and now it's time for me to experience all the positive aspects of it. One of the cliches that politicians like to use when it comes to jobs and job opportunities is that work makes people feel like they are part of society. I don't even want to be part of society. Living in my own world, which means a total disconnect from a society I dislike more and more, makes me feel a lot happier and healthier. This may not be the attitude of an adult asperger role model but that doesn't bother me either. Besides, I'm severely allergic to the word role model and I don't have aspire to become one. When the time comes I will move to another part of the world where I am going to spend my remaining years anyway. Screw society!

Oh yes, one more thing. I'm not going to do volunteer work either!

If that makes you happy then good for you! I also worked all of my life up until 2 years ago or so and physically and mentally am unable to work anymore. I hope to become a complete hermit myself. Sell my house and buy a nice motorhome and head down the road. Remote spots away from most anyone preferred. I love nature and being around nature. :D

Don't give up on living independently, governments can be volatile, you might want to try to look for ways to work from home.

Investments, shares, bonds, mutual money funds, services, small business, an eBay business, affiliate marketing, web design, graphic designer, computer repair, etc.

There are a lot of jobs that can be done from home.
