I applied for a job that I think I could do, teach high schoolers about scientific field research jobs, a bonus is that the job is near many of my relatives and the same city my elderly grandmother who raised me lives in. They are looking for someone that taught high schoolers before and someone familiar with research...

Well, I'm almost a good fit... I spend three summers as a field researcher, and I know a lot already about what is going to be taught, but I've mostly taught elementary school students in the past about animals. But I've been told I'm good at teaching adults, but I don't have much experience. Also I don't know if I can lift 50lbs

I don't know how to approach this job. I'm trying to bring out my strengths at the get go and I'm hoping I'm interesting enough for an interview, but are there good tips for especially someone with AS approaching this?

You have to work with what you've got. Elaborate on all the skills you do have that directly relate to the position. If you haven't been employed by a high school before, include other times when you have taught students of that age. It is okay to tell some white lies here, for example perhaps you volunteered to speak at a summer camp of teenagers about the subject. Any experience is good experience.

Even so, if you don't have much experience to add about teaching this age range, speak about all the knowledge you have in the lesson plans that will be put forth. Demonstrate your knowledge and perhaps plan a small lesson that you could run through with them during the interview.
As long as you check off most of the boxes for them, it will not be an issue. If they like you and know you've got the skills and knowledge. You'll be a shoo-in. Just be yourself.
