I went for a job interview on Friday and I really want this job. It was an office based role in a family run business only 1.3 miles from my home. I'm so excited about this because if I get it I can walk and won't have to deal with driving in busy traffic anymore. Also the people I'd be working for seemed really nice and the company makes interesting things out of plastic. I think it's important that I'm interested in what the company does.

Now that I've seen this amazing job that could potentially be mine I really don't want to work somewhere I'll have to drive to and won't be interested in what the company does but I might have to if I don't get this job. This is my 16th interview in 3 months. I have a really good feeling I might get this job but I'm also worried I haven't portrayed myself well again. I know it's my ASD causing me not to be bubbly and confident in interviews. I've memorised suitable answers for all the awkward questions but occasionally they ask a new one which I've not prepared for.

They said they will let me know by Tuesday. Please think positive thoughts for me that I'll get this job :)

I hope it all works out well for you. And if it doesn't, surely something else will go your way :)

Hope the good feeling you have about getting the job is on the money. Be consoled if you don't get that call on Tuesday that you gave it your best shot.

It's normal to be worried after an interview. I get that way too, even the time I actually got the job a long time ago.

I hope you get the job =)

Thank you all again, I did get the job :D Prior to this my partner advised me to send a follow up email and they called me after approximately half an hour of sending this. He's so good at this sort of thing :) In the hope that it may help someone else in a similar situation, I'm posting the email here:

Hi *****,

I thought I would send you a quick email in order to thank you for your time
last week and for giving me the opportunity of an interview with your
company.

I was extremely nervous in the interview and hope that this did not come
across negatively, I am not normally so nervous but the job seems perfect
for me as its exactly the type of work and environment I am looking for.

I would love the chance to work with you all and hope that you will consider
me for the position.

Looking forward to hearing from you, have a great holiday.

Kind regards

Congrats, Elsa! Happy Walking! And no traffic!! !! !! !

To be honest (not meant as a criticism at all), I probably wouldn't have conveyed, in your follow-up email, that I was "extremely nervous" during the interview. There are people who might take this the wrong way.

Congratulations!

And thank for the example email, I might have to use it as a template in the future.

You are probably right but it is true that I was nervous and I worried later that this may have made me seem uninterested. I think the people who would have taken it the wrong way I probably wouldn't have wanted to work with anyway. I think the main thing that got me the job was that I got it across to them that I was interested in what the business is about and I really wanted the job. Most small businesses would want to have someone working with them who was interested in the business they'd created. I don't think this would matter if I was applying for a job a some big corporate and in that situation my email may well have been a bad idea.
