Non-profits/autism centers that help with employment in CA?
Hey. Just wondering if anyone else besides me has been having trouble finding work in CA? My main problem is the job interviews themselves. Unfortunately, hiring managers are not as sympathetic to even high functioning autists compared to academia or church goers. Meaning, lack of eye contact, stumbling of words, and looking ready to panic are not things these employers generally look upon as an asset.
So, my question is, does anyone know of any benefactors that would help? It used to be so much easier during the dot-com boom, as the temp agencies always had some form of work available, so I could skip that process entirely. With the economy the way it is, things are just so much harder. The EDD, and even my own community college I'm attending aren't doing very much in the way of help. Any advice would be great.
