I'm an aspie and I heat my home solely with wood and thus frequently operate a chainsaw. I was wondering if any other aspies use chainsaws and if so what brand/model do you prefer?

I've never tried, but it seems like a very bad idea.

I've been using chainsaws for about 4 years now and so long as you're wearing proper protective gear and paying attention, it's pretty safe.

Though my house isn't wood heated, being a Boy Scout I do make campfires/pitfires. The fuel wood I use for them is not extremely thick, so I don't use a chainsaw to cut it, but I have used my dad's reciprocating saw, which is a Bosch.

Bosch makes good power tools. I have a Bosch cordless drill and I love it.

I have had a go at using a chain saw, it is much more easy than using a handsaw

Agreed. I have never used a chainsaw. They scare me. I prefer to watch others use one.

the noise and vibration they produce is highly obnoxious and I must wear stout hearing protection when using them. electric ones are far more tolerable.

I love the sound of a roaring chainsaw engine and the smell of the exhaust. It reminds me of spending time with my father since most of the time we spent together was spent working.

i know how to, but i prefer not to.
chainsaws are one of the many things i like to do left-handed, which is a problem.
aside from that, the noise is uncomfortable, and the engine vibrations transfer into my hands andarms, triggering touch-based overloads, especially with the noise and the concentration needed to operate it un-naturally with my right hand.

Husqvarna.

Rancher model.

Works great. Feels good. Does what it is supposed to do, even if I forget to take care of it. Which does happen.

Cool. I like my Stihl 036 but it's a bit cantankerous. After two or three refuels it doesn't want to start, though cleaning the air filter seemed to help this a bit.

We had a storm last night and all have been listening to this morning is chainsaws. If you're not using it yourself, the whine of a chainsaw is intolerable!!

Stihl Farmboss is the best I've used, cuts like a knife through butter. As a rule I steer well clear of them, they are a lethal power tool - mind you I love the petrol grinder which is essentially the same thing with a 15in grinding blade on it - tools of mass destruction@! !
