Has anyone tried their state's DVR program?
It's a long story, but I didn't get to where I am without a lot of help.
In our most desperate hour, my uncle led me to my local DVR program, where I was analyzed by a counselor and re-diagnosed with AS by a contracted therapist.
Then, I started to work with my counselor to receive training for administrative work at a contracted job rehab center. It took several months, but I finally completed as much training as I could.
Then, my job developer for the rehab center offered me a paid internship working as a part-time receptionist at their call center while I worked with her to find myself a real job.
Several months later, the call center manager & job developer started to negotiate a deal with a customer service manager at where I am now and set me up with a phone interview.
After I was allowed a personal interview, I waited a couple more months for a response.
Finally, I was set up to work at the company I applied for as a test and was hired a month later. That was almost two years ago!
Anyway I owe a lot of people gratitude for all the hard work they put in to help me find and hang on to my job and I'm content where I am because of it.
DVR did a lot for me the last two years. Has anyone thought about pursuing it?
Just a thought...

I'm working with my state's DVR program. I applied about 10 months ago. In a few weeks I will start a paid internship as a part time programmer. If things go well I may be able to go full time and/or permanent there. If things go really well than I would like to transfer to software development. I have not been able to work for any significant amount of time. I hope my story has a happy ending too.
