So I'm starting job trials next week. It's been a seven week course and it's been tough. Lot's of challenges to my thinking patterns.

We have four days of two jobs. Then we start applying for jobs. The organization running the program runs a cleaning service to integrate people back into the workforce when they have been out of work for a while. I don't have any current references, so I asked about applying and my facilitator was supportive.

I think it could be a good fit for me. I would learn a skill that doesn't involve too much customer service. And in the long term maybe get a permanent cleaning position.

Good luck, Ann.

I hope, some day, that you'll get that library job again--or some other data entry/clerical-type job.

But, this is a step in the right direction.

But any job is better than no job.

Does the "teacher" know that you're an intelligent person who writes about abstract things? I hope you were able to have some sort of conversation with her/him.

There are only so many employers working with the program. Sadly none of them are book publishers. The idea is that doing something is better then doing nothing.

LOL...it would be ironic if you got a job at a Tim Horton's!

Who knows?

Maybe you'll get a job cleaning at a university. Maybe you'll talk to somebody. Maybe that somebody will see potential in you. Maybe that somebody might offer you a job at the university library.

Who knows?

No more libraries for me; unless it's cleaning them.
