I'm being serious here.

What is the difference between having a job and being a slave ? or at least you can call it being in a slavery type situation.

I've been at sh***y jobs where your job is completely undefined.
basically you don't have a specific job, you just do whatever your superior tells you to. which is basically the same as joining the military, or being in the penitentiary.
and if you don't obey every command that's your employer gives you, then obviously you will be fired. and in that situation you are basically exactly like a slave.
not only that, but you FEEL like a slave.

this I think is the whole point of our species.
we are a self-enslaving species. well you know what I mean, one half enslaves the other half. so that one half, or actually in reality, a small group of people, relatively speaking, are the slave masters of the rest of society.

I think this whole job system, employer vs employee, capitalist vs wage slaves, etc. is really just a modern way of tricking people and enslaving them. at every job I've ever worked at, they treat you really dirtily, like you are in fact a lowly dirty slave to them, I even had employers on the first day say to me, and without provocation mind you, "just don't talk back to me or you will be fired." as if to say that now that you are working for them you have no rights, not to talk back, not to decent , not to have a different opinion, etc. It's insane and very sad.

let's face it, this stupid species has never come up with a new solution on how to live life other than slavery. that is literally how low-brow, slavish, brutish, and
stupid this human ape species is.

I know some of you will not agree, because you are part of the system, you are intractably invested in this system, and you have in fact been brainwashed to think about it in the way they prescribed it to you. you know like employer vs employee, business versus worker, everyone must work for the bottom line, etc all
that crap.

If you think like I do, have a freed mind, and will not mindlessly argue for the system that is in fact enslaving you,

then please give me your take on what is happening here.
how do you see the system that you work in, or perhaps you don't work in it.
like many autistic people.

There are laws that prevent bosses from doing some of the things that slave owners have historically been permitted.

That's the difference.

not a troll, just dramatic.

you can leave the vast majority of jobs any time you want, with or without notice and your employer can't come after you like a slavemaster would have. i think that is the most glaring difference.

most slaves couldn't support themselves financially with what they earned.

do you live by yourself or with someone else, roommates, family?

so like an errand boy, right? did you know it would be like that when you voluntarily signed up?

i'm sorry that had to treat you like that at the places you've been to. from what i read sometimes it seems like most supervisors have to pass a moron test to get in. you're in the US right? IIRC, it's the law to post info on worker's rights where it is visible to both employees and applicants.

i understand a need for income to support oneself but you're not being forced into anything or being yourself sold and bought, like in.....slavery. it's a choice!

i didn't get my first job until a couple of weeks ago, when i was 18. i really don;t believe that waving around a stupid "us vs them" attitude is going to get us anywhere, and it never has. my supervisor so far is kind and easy to get along with, and i believe i got lucky since they're not nearly all like that.

look into your rights and think through what you're going to sign up for before you do. if you decide to keep working for someone else that is. starting a business is hella hard but i bet there's less of a slave feeling.

for knowing very little about life you write quite a bit don't you. 17 year olds should be allowed to moderate online.

I can see my case wasn't handled properly.
if at all.

I want the moderator that is above the age of 30, and reopen this case. I did nothing to provoke this troll. When you cast the first stone and call somebody you don't even know a "troll" , guess what, YOU are the troll. Plain and simple.

kipro, you seriously need to resign as a moderator. And stop offering life advice to people that are three times your age online.
You have no idea what older people have gone through in their lives. You literally have no idea.

You sound like one of my roommates. Like him, DRY UP! NOBODY OWES YOU ANYTHING! If you want to live like a bum, do so, and leave the rest of us the hell alone! And before you jump all over my fat f!cking ass, I've done my share of sh!tty jobs over the last 40-odd years, so don't get huffy with me.

Meistersinger,

that's true, nobody owes me anything.
and just because you have fiat currency, paper money, and I don't, doesn't mean I owe you my labor. why don't you clean your own house? Why don't you clean your own toilets? Why don't you fix your own car? just as you have said, nobody owes you any of that labor. you are not superior to anyone else just because you have a cache of fake paper money. I see that you subscribe to this world that you live in of slave laborers vs fiat currency holders. Sounds like you have never taken a moment to consider, and reevaluate, this fundamental system you have been inculcated into.
well, ultimately, it is not your fault. in the truth of things, people have been grappling with this most intractable existential problem for many thousands of years so far. And as of yet not a single person has come up with a solution. a pretty sad testament to this species.

Farmers do not owe you their crop, just because you have fake paper money.
why don't you grow your own crops? It's not the farmers fault that you starve to death. like you said, they don't owe you anything. it's not their fault that you didn't learn how to grow food. which is of course a common fundamental human ability that everyone should learn.

I graduated high school with high marks. I graduated University (not college mind you) with a double major in math and physics. What have you done with your life?
apparently not much. I taught myself violin. I am excellent at playing Bach, Mozart, Schubert, Satie , and many classical pieces that involve dissonance. dissonant classical pieces are probably some of the most beautiful classical pieces ever created. I taught myself Japanese, and I spoke fluent Japanese by the age of 16. I speak five foreign languages as I write this. Again, I ask, what have you done with your life?

I guess it was a shock when I had to switch from a life of learning, a life of achievement, to the life of a wage slave. Nobody ever told me, especially my estranged parents, that this was going on underpinning our society, our culture, our very life on this planet. That the fundamental basis of our entire system was based on brutish wage slavery. and I love getting out there, and working , making a way for myself, being rewarded with confidence and peace of mind at the end of the day, when I come home from work. I love that. however at the end of the day, it is a very violent system, a very wayword and happenstance system, where the hierarchy is ruled from the top by brutish, ignorant apes. that's all they want in essence is not what you can bring to the table, not how much you have achieved, not how much of a good person you are, but in fact, how subservient you are to them. really? This is the world and that you are subscribing to ? I thought we had gotten out of the medieval age, I was under the false impression that our species and culture had gone through enlightenment. do you remember the history lessons teaching you that's our European culture have gone through the Enlightenment stage? well obviously, as you can see from the state that the world is in now, that that was a complete lie. sort of a cover up, in order to bamboozle the young know-nothings to buckle down and comply with their medieval system. advances in technology are not enlightenment. what good is having computers and having gone to the moon in a space shuttle good for human beings if we can't stop killing each other, and treating each other like slaves?

sometimes I think the zombie apocalypse has already happened on this planet.
nobody is questioning anything. nobody is allowed to question anything. it's just "do what we say or we will kill you" state of existence. I honestly don't know how you people can live like this.

if you people like this system, well then you can have it.

you don't owe me anything,

and more importantly I do not owe you anything.

leave me alone and let me live the rest of my life in peace.

I want nothing to do with you people or the neverending nightmare you have
created for yourselves on this beautiful planet. because really, this is a beautiful
planet. nature is sublime. human apes are the problem, not nature, nor me.

Hundreds of millions of people murdered in World War 2.
1.5 million innocent civilians murdered in Iraq alone in the last 10 years.
for what? sold at Lockheed Martin can turn a profit?
so that the Bush family and Obama can solidify their legacy on this planet?
I'm pretty sure that Obama's kill list is not sanctioned by the American Constitution. that's not what the forefathers had in mind.
but then again, the forefathers were not black, they didn't have extended family in kenya, and I'm pretty sure they never attended their brothers' weddings in Muslim garb. You also might note, that's under Muslim law it is illegal for you to not
be a Muslim if you attend a wedding ceremony. you can't fly to Kenya and attend a Muslim wedding if you are not a Muslim. you can look all this up, it's common knowledge, except for Americans, apparently. And you let these people run your country.

Wow !

Enjoy your new rulers.
I'm sure they will be egalitarian and fair handed with you 21st century Americans.

A bit of a diatribe, I know.

all I want is peace, freedom and happiness for all American people.
but that will never happen with the current system we have going.

First off, I do clean the house, as best as I can, since my housemates don't, most of the time. Second, I do clean the toilets, except for the master bath. (The guy that rents the master bedroom is responsible for that. He keeps his door locked at all times, so I'm not going to attempt to enter his domain.)

I happen to live in a suburban town home community. The homeowners association will not allow it, else I would.

Are you bragging or complaining? I happened to have gone to university myself. I have a BA in music history. As well as a master's in library and information science. I've spent 5 years at a major library automation firm, 5 and 1/2 years as a contractor at the U.S. DoD, and 2 years at Apple Computer. I'd still be playing clarinet, except carpal tunnel syndrome has pretty much eliminated me getting the horn out of the case (not that I was a Benny Goodman, Artie Shaw, Woody Herman, or Ignatius Gennusa to begin with. People do accuse me of being the second Pavarotti (although I'm more of a Sir Jon Vickers in temperament).

So, I don't speak Japanese. BFD. I have enough problems with American English, let alone the Pennsylvanian German Dialect.

And that, chump, is where we differ. You, as far as I can tell, were mollycoddled. As for myself, my brothers, and my parents, we were brought up on the wrong side of the railroad tracks. The town I grew up in was considered to be the cesspool of the county. I learned everything the hard way. Even to this day, my richer relatives, except for 4 of them, have a condescending attitude toward me and my brothers. I guarantee you, with the exception of those 4, I don't bother with the rest of the family.

Besides, as long as the human race exists (and barring World War III, thermonuclear war doesn't destroy the human race, as well as all humanity) you'll continue to see this kind of behavior, be it NT or neurodiverse.

meistersinger,

I see the Enlightenment has passed you by and left you in total darkness. You are obviously completely devoid of hope, subtlety, or any humanity for that matter.

all you have to offer is the same as any redneck out there: "f*** you chump, suck it up, fall in line". And "I suffered way more than you have."
Which is little more than another dick measuring contest.

Bravo. Golf clap.

Just as it is with me, nobody gives a s*** how much you went through, or how much you have suffered. That's just a fact of life you obviously have not learned yet. Everything that you think you are, everything that you think you have achieved, everything and your entire life will be erased when you leave this world. If not sooner. Your Ego will not immortalize you.
Even though it tells you otherwise.

I was not coddled, & I worked my way through life way more than you ever have. I'm a contractor and I earn every dollar I
get. Both my mother and my father worked their way up from poverty. And from the ruins of World War 2 no less. They made it damn clear that I was to make my own way in this world. And not depend on them.

It's obvious you do not understand anything about the real world.
All you have to offer is more brutish low-brow stupidity. That is quite evident in your responses.

what's wrong with getting the human race out of its current stupidity? what's wrong with finding a better way? what is wrong with showing humanity that they can live a good life living at the pace of the universe, and not at the pace of greedy, avaricious capitalists ?
Nor in the mind numbing prison of socialism ?

of course, look who I am talking to.
A mindless dull-eyed zombie from the last apocalypse.

try and enjoy the remainder of your so-called life, and try not to hurt any more people than you already have.

you are an excellent example of the old adage:

"Most wisemen are old, very few old men are wise."

Some major differences between slaves and employees:

Slaves are bought and sold; employees are hired and fired.

Slaves run away; employees resign.

Slaves are owned; employees are paid.

Slaves are chattel; employees have rights.

Slaves can't choose their masters; employees can choose which employer to apply to.

Slaves are bred; employees are wed.

This thread is pointless and going down in flames; therefore, it is locked.

And I'm 32.
