When you can't get hired anywhere?
Don't know how to phrase the question and get your attention lol. I've been looking for a job for a while now, I was trying to stay away from fast food but...it seems like those are the only people who hire me..
The reason why I hate working fast food and hate customers is
Last time they didn't pay me, and the other time I got fired because I screwed up too many sandwiches. And the other time i wasn't getting enough hours...and another time one of the bosses used to verbally abuse me.
I can't deal with customers any more...I had people yell at me and call me names...I remember 2 years ago some crazy lady came in Mcdonald's with her children and pratically threw a temper tauturm because her kids meals were taking too long. I have a lot of those stories but I'm trying to keep this short..
I've tried grocery stores, retail everything that someone right out of High School can apply for
I'm not in school right now, I can work full time. I've gone to job fairs, last job fair I went to went terribly
It was late in the afternoon and everyone was in bad mood I waited three hours just to be interviewed with 4 other people. One of the mangers mocked the way I spoke.
After asking me one question and the rest of the group they guided me and other woman out of the room and told us they weren't hiring
Even though I applied for any position
I've tired retail just got an email rejecting me
tried fast food again rejected
Sory if it seems like I'm whining I'm just fustrated
I'm thinking it may have something to do with my name...do employers google people's name?
I had something happen to me a few years ago and some pictures got out and kind of spread, I may post this in another section
But anyways, does anyone know how I can get a job?
And where to apply to?
This isn't advice but I am in a similar situation, I left higher education (degree-level) over a year ago but didn't graduate, they keep telling me apprenticeships are the way to go, you learn and earn at the same time except they have a more stringent interview process even more than a normal full-time paid job would have and it is supposed to be the governments flagship movement in getting more youth's into work in ultimately just to decrease the amount of unemployed people ('statistics' show there are more young people unemployed than older people in the 30+ age).
I have top grades in other qualifications that allowed me in university which should provide some weight in applying for jobs but hasn't done any good. My sibling has found work 2 years faster than I have, and has less qualifications than me, and they have told me I could go work for them because they allegedly have more vacancies but when I look online there are none, and still waiting for a response, it's likely they think I won't be suitable for that area of work because we never got along in childhood, and still don't in adulthood.
Contrary to what I should do for a job, I have applied to various fast-food places, but I am certain they would reject me because of my poor social ability, can't function in a fast-paced environment, and health issues.
Since I had work experience in different environments: customer service, administration and retail, I think I might have a chance in retail, but there are alot of aspects in my life I have to change in order to 'get out of my shell' so to speak as most employees i've worked with have told me (they said I was quiet, too reserved in some parts, and need to speak up, don't look grumpy/depressed as is what i'm used to).
Applying to jobs is easy, getting an interview is the first hard part and obviously getting the job is the hardest part of all. Just focus on those first then once you have the job, you can focus on keeping it and try and be positive.
