Damnit I had a successful job before! I was happy! Able to communicate.... Lost that job a year ago and I'm still out work.

It's very rare that I can push myself to go out and look. Sometimes I just can't do it. I can't even leave the house. It's terrible. I need to work badly, but i can't do it... I can't.

Sadly, I'm in the exact same situation and I just don't know what to do to get any sort of motivation or confidence. And it feels as though I'll never dig out of the giant financial hole that I'm in anyway...so why bother? :x

I feel the same way, and I've decided that it means I am depressed. I don't know what to do about it, but it really sucks. I have essentially quit going to school; all I do is read and watch TV and write. I think I am going to make an appointment to talk to a counselor because this is ruining my life.

Turn off your computers folks. Step away from the tv. Put away your video games and get out in the world. You have to force yourself to go out and get another job. I'm not saying this to be mean. It took ages for me to find work when I got out of college and I had several terrible jobs for awhile but kept on going.

Don't waste away your whole life on this website. Please get out and get a job. Besides the money it is therapeutic for Aspies to have a job. The more you try the better you will get at it. Sometimes you can meet neat people at work that will make your life more enjoyable.

Me too.......
You express that feeling of stuckness very well.
I know it's depression; wellbutrin keeps the worst away but it's like fear, a palpable panic that grows as I approach actually doing anything about it.

And sometimes you work for people who make your life a living hell.

Most of the time, in my experience. The stress-related illnesses aren't really worth it.

this reminds me a t-shirt i once had it said:
how to find a job!
step 1: wake up
step 2: think about getting a job
step 3: go back to sleep
