looking for better work

Hi everyone!! So happy i found this site. Im 22, gay and fabulous lol with have aspergers and honestly it sucks some days. Weird thing is I'm not that typical quiet person who hates everyone. I have a nice amount of friends and people who i work with I'm friends with. I generally get along with everyone to which I'm called the chatty Kathy and social butterfly . Well I'm currently working two retail jobs and i just got my associates degeee in liberal arts (sigh). Well its something though. My parents want me to get out of retail and do better for myself. My mom thinks id be great at being a hotel concierge and my dads like do something better. Its just i have no confidence because i was fired at my last job for something stupid and yeah thats why. Whats a good grp of jobs for people with aspergers?! Thank you!

The typical answer to this question would be computer programmer or do something along the lines of your obsession. But you seem quite unique among those with ASD, so you might just have to find your own answer. Perhaps try an employment agency or someplace where you can see a physical list of actual job openings. You might try something new and enjoy it.

Edit: there's nothing wrong with doing retail forever, despite your parents' opinions. As long as you have enough money to be happy with your own life, you're better off than a lot of us autistics.
