I am having issues with a colleague of when he is coming to my class. He handed me a schedule at the beginning of the year stating that he will be in my class at 11:30. Well, constantly he came about 11:35, lately he has moved that time up to 11:45 to 11:54. After talking to several other co-workers about this issue, I decided to send him a fairly innocuous email confirming that we agreed that he would come at 11:30 and if not what time to expect him, also how long should the students expect him to be there.
He sent a long email, without getting into the details, basically stated this:
1) He has no classroom management
2) He has no time management
3) He does not respect my time or the time of my students
4) He will continue to do this because he is retiring at the end of the year.

I just spent most of the night going over what I would say and how I would handle this. After getting little sleep, I came to the conclusion that I will bypass this man and do what I need to do to support the students.

As I said this is a rant, I cannot stand when people do not do what they say they will do, not honor their commitments and essentially act like little kids with no accountability and responsibility.

That's probably the best approach.

The guy doesn't give two craps about you. You shouldn't give two craps about him.
