I am working at krogers right now as a bagger (technically a cashier but i will explain). I have been there for almost 2 years (since 6/17/05) and in June 06 i got promoted to cashier, but only did it for 1 day and i loved it. Then 6 months later i got to do it cause we were rushed and my assistant manager told me to jump on the express lane for half an hour. I made some mistakes, but I did well everybody said since i hadn't touched a register for 6 months and the person under my assistant manager scolded me for making mistakes. Then my manager finally got me to be retrained after 9 months of me and my mom trying to find a way to figure this out. Last week she trained me and then she didn't even put me on the scheduel as a cashier. I thought, what the f**k, is going to be the same thing all over again. I want to be a cashier and everybody is wondering why i havent been promoted (they havent seen my paystub) after being there 2 years. I am perfectally capable of doing it, everybody says that i will be the next great cashier there, but the running joke (and i think she takes this too literally) is that i am the best bagger there and i would have to slack off to get promoted. i am thinking of asking to be put on the cashier scheduel and bagger scheduel (cause thats what was the plan), and opening my days to 5 from 3.
