Role play in job interviews

Although I am fortunate enough to currently be employed, I often still apply for other jobs just so I don't feel trapped where I am however I was hoping people here could help with role play in job interviews.

These are my absolute worst nightmare because I can't do "pretend" very well and asking me to act how I would in the real situation doesn't work because they're not the same and so I can't "act" the same, if that makes sense.

Does anyone have any advice for blocking out this thought process, or a way of looking at the situation differently?
