I have worked in several jobs/training experiences within the last 5 or so years in industries such as recreation, public services, metal finishing and business mostly in office environments doing things such as data entry, filing and other office tasks but currently work at a swimming pool during the summers though. I was fortunate to have worked at a company called AutonomyWorks based in Downers Grove, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago which hires people with autism to do marketing operations tasks such as analytics, data cleansing, screen captures, assembling powerpoint presentations, reporting, quality assurance, ad trafficking, among other things.

One of my last real jobs I had was at a metal finishing factory which conducted periodic fire alarm tests at unscheduled times and I was really bothered by the fact that I got up and left my work area to go to a quieter area whenever one was announced. So I quit and left that job because I had had enough of the frequency of them.

After I left that job, I had a virtual job in which I was able to work out of my house or wherever I chose such as my public library for a marketing professional who runs her own business doing Excel grids through researching community officials and facts on many different topics as well as finding phone numbers, contacts and addresses of several businesses locally as well as throughout the United States and the Virgin Islands.

So, I was beginning to think about what some good jobs/careers would be worth exploring with the experience and skills I have. Some of my skills include a great attention to detail, ability to focus for a prolonged period of time, fast typing speeds and finding mistakes in one's work.

One of my dream jobs would be to come up with ideas for recreation programming at a local agency. As well, people have told me that I could be a good Personal Assistant since it seems that I am good at keeping people on task and where to go and stuff like that. What do you think? Just give me some ideas on what jobs could be good for people that have autism and a skill set like me and based upon my past and current occupations. Anything that would be situated in a quieter environment without fire alarm tests or other loud noises would be appreciated as well! Thanks!
