This might be a long post because I may mention other things that could relate to this topic.

I have recently graduated from San Francisco State University. I thought this bring me happiness, but now I'm stuck in one place. Right now I'm unemployed and I don't a job right now. Worst of all: I don't have any job experience to start with since I am so focus on getting graduated back then.

Not only that, I'm clueless about what jobs I want. Some people around me suggest that customer service aren't for me because I have trouble communicate with people. But one day when I was shopping at Daiso in Canada with my mom a stranger approached me speaking in Mandarin asking for prices about slippers. Dad told me that is something that a 10 year old can do also (I'm 23 years old right now)

My ambition is ultimately making my fanfiction making into the movies. That might sound like a childish dream since most movies are all about stuff based on the comic book, not manga (and I also realize that not many people in USA watch anime movies)

I also have other skills such as playing the piano and know how to swim all four styles. As I said before, I don't know how to communicate with people. I looked up with jobs that has these skills and find out that most of them are going to work with children. I'm not sure how will I be able to work with children because they might start wreck everything when they are being too playful.

I'm still waiting a few job offers that I have applied and see what happens.

What did you study at university?

What career path did you plan to follow once you graduated?

As I said before, I studied in creative writing.

Creative writing is essentially about studying various literature and also learn how to write under some constraints.

When I was in university, I didn't think much about career paths. The director of Creative Writing in SFSU said that those who studied in Creative Writing can become teachers.

There's a catch in my side though. I myself isn't originally born in the United States and so English isn't really my native language, even though I'm really fluent to it.

So I'm either planning for a job that provides translation (Cantonese is my native language), provide proofreading or to help people write other things.

But as I check the job sites, most of these writer jobs requires experience on other fields such as marketing or sales.

As I check these websites, I think of how interesting these websites work.

There are these things call "bids" and I'm not really sure how it works. But when I see the word "fee", I have this cringe feeling where I ask myself a question about if that is going to require payment for these jobs.

There are other things that require for these websites. I'm not really an expert when it comes to resume writing. I myself doesn't have any job experience to start with (other than knowing how to stock items in Walgreens, which isn't really related to my field of work.)

Not only that, my parents believes that doing something that is related to my degree would make myself pay full attention to the work itself. I'm not sure if it's true, but they say that they don't want me to work on customer service, knowing that I'm not capable of working on fast paced environment.

Well at least I have some fascination towards helping the environment. I'm sick of seeing destruction of the planet and I really want do something about it.

Other than anything that I have said above, I am totally clueless on how to build experience for myself (and finally do something worthy other than playing computer games all day long)

You didn't mention that in your initial post.

I'm not sure a degree in creative writing carries with it a high chance of stepping into a job after graduation or any sort of clear cut progression into a career.

My own experience. Quite by accident, I found myself in a job with the US Government with the Customs Service. I was charged with the proper duty classification of imported merchandise (Is ramen a soup or a noodle? There is a big difference in duty.) It was also my responsibility to insure that the value reported contained all necessary elements. You had mountains of previous legal ruling to read and understand before you decide Almost all interaction was by correspondence and It was well paid job with serious responsibility, excellent benefits and retirement. I really regret not continuing now that I understand myself better. My consulting jobs in the same area after leaving the government required sustained personal contacts with clients and I was not successful. I always regret leaving that government job.

Your school offers Career Services, do you have a resume to post there? I would also look for volunteer opportunities you can put on your resume. Maybe volunteer to do content writing for a Chinese-American, religious or other organization which would allow you to pad your resume.
